Best Friend

Hi Buddies!

Once again this post is about Friendship and who is one of the best person in my life. Some of you would have got it right about whom this post is. It is all about my Father (Daddy). I think most of us didn't have enough time to share/get to know things with/from them (Nan enavo daily um manikanka pesarapola). From past one year I am sharing lot of things with my dad like place, things, friends money etc.

I got to know many things about him during the conversations here I am sharing few things from our conversations

We have a grocery shop in our native, usually my dad open shop in early morning 6:00 AM. I used to travel to my hometown mostly twice in a month, one day I reached home in morning 5:00 AM. My mother made a super coffee for me and she asked me to go with dad to help him in open shop (ithuku coffee bribe ha ;) ). After completing all arrangements we had a casual talks and somewhere I said about some Hindi movie and also said that I watched that movie with subtitle otherwise I wouldn't understood. He said that, he watched many Hindi movies. I was shell shocked because generally he will not come for movies. I remember once we have argued with for 6 months to say okay for a movie.

I asked him how you will go for a movie, He had a friend who had a shop opposite to theatre. That friend will take tickets for night show and pick my dad. My dad said some movie names but I didn't remember the names. I understood that how much he has sacrificed even watching movies for us.

My mother used to tell me that dad will easily get angry for small things before marriage (note panunga appa mrg ku munadi mattum). She said one incident about my dad that was before their marriage. Okay well here I have tell how my mother know him before marriage. My dad has 5 sisters and 2 brothers he is the last one in family. After his 2 second sister marriage my dad went with her because of family situations and he married his own sister's daughter. Now let us come to the discussion, one day my dad's In-law (sister's husband) said something about him so he broke all the glass bottles that were there in shop. After seeing this his In-law didn't say anything basically we can say he shut his mouth (periyavangala apadi solla kudathu irrunthalum English la epadi soldrathu nu theriyala).

One more incident, his niece said one of his class mate beat him in school. I am not sure whether he was is in bad mood or not, my dad called his friend when he came across our house and beat him like anything. Think how much he would have beat him so that he slept under a bullock cart which was there near to our home. Not sure what happened next and I didn't asked anything about that.

During this(2016) Diwali holidays I told him that we have taken dress for festival. He spoke how he will celebrate Diwali during his childhood days. He said, he will get a uniform dress as festival one because his father (my grand dad) will not buy uniform for him (avalo varumai). I was thinking now-a-days how many dress we are buying even for normal day (unga kallam vera enga kallam vera than aana ivalo thevaiya nu theriyala). I don't know only because of this we bought new dress only for Diwali and Birthday in a year still my college days.

Now an important one food, we (me, brother, mother and dad) were having food at night. My brother said he is diet, so he asked my mother not to apply oil for dosa and we started talking about few things, finally reached the topic why these days people are getting sugar easily (intha conversation ha deep ha patha neeraya irrukum nama melotama papom). He said till 90's its rare to see rice food. He said during his school days in our home once in a month we will prepare rice for food. He also mentioned that if he know that today's food is rice he will run from school to home to have it (ipo theriuthu en food na nan vilunthudaren nu).

Similar to the first incident one more discussion happened when I was with him in shop. He asked me to change the battery for wall clock and set time. I did both, then he asked me what is the exact time now I read time by seeing wall call. He asked me set that as 10 mins faster. I asked him why, he said there are many people who are doing daily labours near our shop so they will come to shop for buy few things (curd, pickle, water pocket, oil etc) before they start to their daily work. So when they are in shop most of them will look at clock and start their day 10 minutes earlier. He said we can do this kind of help too. I didn't had any word to say after that.

I have never seen my Dad angry expect once (ithu en life la) and that is the last time. I didn't remember exactly what I did he gave one slap to me next day fever (apparam ena school cut). Also he had done many things which we (myself and brother) haven't asked him. I have seen him as a good husband, brother, father, uncle etc. I am not sure how much I like him but I am sure that he has come across many trouble to reach this position. Yes I agree our dad's would came across many things, the point I would like to confess here is how much we know about their childhood days or how they have crafted their life to reach their current position.

Try to have a Dad time (time with dad) from now :D Meanwhile, I will be back with some interesting post to redirect you.

  3. Good one.. good narration

//He said till 90's its rare to see rice //. But I think Rice was popularized well before 1975.. after 1975 mostly everyone had access to rice.. this rice story should have happened in 60's or 70's..

Moreover we can't blame rice alone for the diabetes..

Good job documenting our parents generation's struggles 👌👌

Thank you / follow up/ update/ 2023 Diwali picks

Hi Everyone, I hope we benefited from last year's Diwali Pick. Based on the previous year's investment returns on Diwali picks, I can take care of the upcoming Diwali celebration.  Let us see the returns with sample data: We considered these two at the price of  1. Fortis Health Care @ 360 2. Umang Dairy @70. I hope we have achieved the below-mentioned targets from our 1. Umang Diaries 70 to 150(but high it made high of 165rs) which is more than 110% of return on investment within a year. 10K of investment would yield 21,326 after brokerage our charges might vary based on brokerage but the return on invested capital would be the same for all of us. 2. Fortis Healthcare 365 to 518(even now it is trading at 600+) 10K of investment would yield 14,105 after brokerage our charges might vary based on brokerage but the return on invested capital would be the same for all of us. In simple terms our investment of 20K would have grown up to 35,431 this excludes other corporate act...

Accumulating Wealth

Hi Everyone,      After a long gap, I had some free time to publish this idea of mine. As usual, again this is about the money and investment struggle which I have faced and found a way to overcome and invest it and build wealth over time slowly and steadily. Not only me few of my friends faced these issues we figured out an answer and I figured out a way to invest the bonus.       I hope or assume most of us investing slowly getting some acceptable returns and on the way to beating inflation, we have to tap on ourselves to achieve it. we get returns in two ways, --> Share price appreciation --> Dividend/ rental income(from INVIT and REITS) based on the investment.      Now comes what is the issue/problem and the answer for the same right. we have already seen the jits and core of the question yes, it is all about how to track our dividend income and if wanted to invest the returns to accumulate the wealth.    ...
